The aim of ACT is to maximize human potential for a rich, full and meaningful life; to cultivate health, vitality and well-being through mindful values-based living.
The goals of ACT are to help teach you psychological skills to deal with your painful thoughts and feelings effectively teaching you psychological skills to deal with your painful thoughts and feelings effectively so that they have much less impact and influence over you
The group work also aims to help you to clarify what is truly important and meaningful to you – i.e your values – then use that knowledge to guide, inspire and motivate you to change your life for the better.
ACT Skills Group
At our practice, groups meet weekly in either the daytime or evenings. Group skills training provides an opportunity to learn and practice ACT skills in a collaborative setting. Sessions will consist of the introduction of a new skill or continued reinforcement of a skill previously taught as well as review of homework assignments from the previous meeting. Throughout the sessions, there will be opportunities to explore and share personal reactions and experiences.
